The LNP has preselected businesswoman Kendall Morton to contest the Queensland seat of Caloundra at the next state election.
"The only way to deliver real action to reduce the cost of living, improve housing accessibility and affordability and tackle the scourge of youth crime is to change the government in 2024," Ms Morton said in a statement on Sunday.
Current Labor MP Jason Hunt was elected in the southern Sunshine Coast electorate in 2020 after a 5.9 per cent swing in the seat to the ALP.
Labor's win in Caloundra at the last state election was its first since the seat was created in 1992.
State Opposition Leader David Crisafulli welcomed Ms Morton's preselection.
"As a dedicated mother of four, dynamic small business owner and passionate community advocate, Kendall is well known in her community," Mr Crisafulli said.
"Kendall is an outstanding person and an amazing grassroots candidate highlighting the LNP's determination to offer Queenslanders a better way for our state instead of the constant chaos and crisis of a tired third term government."
Ms Morton will be the 11th candidate and ninth woman the Queensland LNP has preselected for next year's state election.
